Ingredients Needed For The Recipe
Chicken: use a skinless boneless chicken breast you could get them at a nearby grocery store.
Oil: you could use any variety oil of your choice available I’m using olive.
Honey: any honey of your choice would be fine or a sugar free alternative could also be a good choice.
Spices: your gonna be needing some onion powder, garlic powder, ground cumin powder, smoked paprika powder and chilli powder you could also add some of your favourite spices along with it. Or spice it according to your taste (if preferred)
BBQ Sauce: getting a low calorie BBQ Sauce would be preferable because we are going for something low in calories but still tasty I used Sweet Baby Ray’s Barbecue Sauce OR G Hughes Barbecue Sauce this two works fine and by far is my best option for a healthier BBQ Sauce.
Tomato Sauce: I Just like to use ketchup cause they also work fine by me but your choice of Tomato sauces are fine (do make sure to check the calories per serving).
Lime: what’s a taco without lime I love to use fresh lines for that sour tangy taste that just kicks right in.
Salt and Pepper : to have taste.
Tortillas : Use a corn Tortilla or a low calorie Tortilla I personally used La Tortilla Factory’s Low Carb Tortillas. Or Any low calorie Tortilla of your choice.
Cheese: A low calorie cheese of your choice would work fine, i used Sargeto Light String Cheese Reduced Fat Low Moisture Part-Skim Mozzarella Cheese Snacks.
Toppings: any Topping of your choice (see some suggestions I made below).
Low-Calorie Topping Suggestions For The Tacos:
Fresh salsa: adds a vibrant flavour and minimal in calories.
Chopped Cilantro: Provides a great freshness and a slight citrus taste to tacos
Diced red onions: it adds a nice crush and a bit of sharpness to it.
Shredded Lettuce: some Shredded Lettuce helps add volume and aa refreshing texture to the tacos.
Avocado (in moderation): adds a healthy fat but quite high in calories so please do make sure to check the amount of calories of Avocado you’ll be adding.
Plain Greek Yoghurt or a Dollop of a Light sour Cream: adds some creaminess (use Sparkly for Calories)
